What to expect

When you come to Gerrard Street on a Sunday Morning...

Our Sunday morning service starts at 10.30am. There is no dress code - whatever you are comfortable with. When you arrive at the main entrance you will be met and welcomed by someone from our Welcome Team. They will say Hi and give you a 'Welcome to Gerrard Street' Bulletin. If you'd like to, please let the Welcome Team know if you are new to Gerrard Street - they'll be happy to introduce you to someone and help make you feel comfortable. If you have any children, please ask someone from the Welcome Team to point out the crèche facility or the facilities for the Sunday School clubs.

When you enter the main building, please sit where you like - there are no 'reserved' seats. You'll see that we are quite an international community, which we really value.

The service starts at 10.30 with a welcome, contemporary worship music and prayer. We sing mostly newer worship songs and a few older classics. Don't worry if you don't know the songs. Some people raise their hands in worship and some don't - you do whatever you feel comfortable with. Everyone (kids, teenagers and adults) is together in the main sanctuary for this part of the service. We will then have some notices and usually a kids talk to follow. The young kids are generally invited to come to the front near the stage for the kids talk or a song. Please feel free to keep your kids with you at this point if they are not comfortable going to the front.

The crèche facility is available from the start of the service. Part way through the service, we invite the children and teenagers to leave the main sanctuary to go to their Sunday School Clubs. The pre-school club is called Little Lighthouse, the primary age club is called Lighthouse, and the secondary age club is called TBC. Each have their own facilities. Please ask any of the Welcome Team or other parents for directions. Our clubs are staffed by church volunteers who all have Disclosure Scotland clearance, and are accountable to our church leadership.

The remaining part of the service will involve contemporary worship music, biblical teaching, prayer response, and communion on the first Sunday of each month. The service usually finishes around 12pm.

Coffee, tea and biccies are served after church for everyone. Please stay for a cuppa and a chat - we'd love to get to know you. Parking is available near the church, for more information click here.

When you come to Gerrard Street on a Sunday Evening...

Our Sunday evening service starts at 6.30pm. Again, you'll be welcomed at the entrance by the Welcome Team. There are no crèche or kids club facilities during the evening service, but please feel free to bring your children to this service, they are very welcome. The comments above on dress code (i.e. we don't have one), and seating arrangements (i.e. sit where you like) are the same for both services.

The service will start with a welcome, some prayer, and quite a lot of contemporary worship music and response times. The teaching will again be biblical and contemporary, but following a different theme or bible book from the Morning Service. We will often give the opportunity for the church to respond in some way to the message afterwards. The service usually finishes around 8pm, followed by coffee, tea and biccies. Please hang around and get to know some people.
